James Matthew Daniel most recently served as Senior Video Director for Global Citizen, overseeing large-scale video initiatives designed to inform, engage, and mobilize audiences around global issues. Prior to that, he was the Senior Media Producer for the American Civil Liberties Union, leading cross-functional teams to create impactful video content under tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of journalistic integrity. James recently left Global Citizen to pursue freelance opportunities, continuing to expand his diverse portfolio across film, television, and live events.
A director, photographer, cinematographer, and editor, James has produced projects across six continents. His experience includes editing a 29-video campaign for Intel, creating a travel series for the Dubai One Network, and directing and editing a documentary series focused on fostering investment in America’s heartland. James is also a member of the GLMMR arts collective and collaborates frequently with Artifact Films, Lights & Years, and the duo at Navigate. Across his extensive career, James has led teams, mentored emerging talent, and managed projects from concept to completion—always combining narrative clarity, visual excellence, and a drive to connect with audiences in meaningful ways.
